Jason has a problem. A big problem. He doesn't remember anything before waking up in a bus jampacked with students on a field trip. Apparently, he has a girlfriend named Piper and his best buddy is some guy called Leo. But this field trip isn't like any other. Their classmates Dylan turns out to be a Storm Spirit that attacks them... Coach Hedge turns out to be a satyr... Jason surprises everyone including himself when one of his coins turns into a sword he uses in the fight. A flying chariot arrives in the nick of time, rescues the trio and drives them to Camp Half-Blood. Leo discovers that he is a son of Hephaestus, Piper is a daughter of Aphrodite, and Jason is a son of Zeus! But they spend a little time at Camp before setting off on a quest. What dangers will they have to encounter? And most importantly will they be able to survive?
